about
All that Love is the story of closure and forgiveness. The song is about a relationship that didn’t work out the way you originally thought. It looks at the home that was built, like a relationship, that appeared good and solid on the outside, but the cracks eventually caused it to break apart. It’s a tale of recovery, forgiveness and letting go. Parts of the lyrics were inspired by the Willard Robison and Larry Conley song, A Cottage for Sale.
All that Love was written by Emily Zuzik and Benji Rogers. The video for All the Love was shot by Emily and Cynthia Brando, and edited by Emily Zuzik during quarantine. Special thanks go to Capt. Jody Smith for location scouting and spare tire help on the off roads.
lyrics
All that Love
By Emily Ann Zuzik and Benji Rogers
1. Took bricks, mortar and wood and built a house the best that we could.
And when the wind pulls it down, how do you let go?
You pull a double shift. Sweat so hard just trying to make it fit,
And your back’s about to break, you’re holding on.
But it comes down to this, I wanted more than you could give.
I tried to catch you, but I missed.
All that work for nothing, all that love to choose.
All that love for nothing, all that love to lose.
2. On paper, we’ve got it made. It was so crystal clear, now it’s starting to fade.
And if this house doesn’t stand, what stories would it tell?
That it comes down to this, I wanted more than you could give.
We tore it up to make it fit.
All that work for nothing, all that love to choose.
All that love for nothing, all that love to lose.
You got sober with a shrug. Left me to kick the drug.
And it’s reckoning time for me. Oh how you wrecked me…
All that work for nothing, all that love to choose.
All that love for nothing, all that love to lose.
All that work for nothing, all that love to choose.
All that love for nothing, all that love to lose.
